Oral hygiene
The specialty of Oral Hygiene is crucial within the Dental Medicine team. Aimed at the prevention and diagnosis of oral diseases, Oral Hygiene is crucial in maintaining the treatments carried out by other specialties that require adequate dental cleaning through scaling.
This specialty also has an educational and preventative, promoting specific oral hygiene habits for each patient.
Dental Restoration
Referred to as dental restoration, or dental filling, the treatment allows the restoration of masticatory and aesthetic function in teeth damaged by cavities, worn out or fractured by trauma.
Filling a tooth is characterized by its reconstruction, avoiding destruction, loss or even extraction.
The restoration is carried out under the effect of local anesthesia, allowing the patient not to feel pain during the procedure. The objective is to return the tooth to its natural, anatomical shape and function without neglecting aesthetics.
Endodontics
Endodontics, commonly known as devitalization, is the area of Dentistry that carries out the internal cleaning of a compromised tooth.
The main objective of the procedure is to remove all organic tissue from the tooth canal, or root, and fill it with a biocompatible material, in order to seal the tooth from the pulp chamber to the tip of the root.
After treatment, reports of pain disappear and, often, devitalization of the tooth may be the only treatment capable of preventing tooth extraction.
Periodontology
Periodontology is the specialty of Dental Medicine dedicated to the study, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of periodontal pathologies, which affect the supporting tissues of the teeth (dental support bone, periodontal ligament and gums).
Gingivitis or inflammation of the gums is a very common initial form of periodontal disease. Periodontitis involves some degree of bone loss.
There are several periodontal treatments available, but prevention is essential in eliminating bacterial plaque. The challenge is to build healthy smiles every day.
